Yields 8 servings at 170 calories.

  • 1lb lean ground turkey (I use 99% lean turkey but any ground meat you like is great!)

  • 1/2 yellow onion

  • 1 green bell pepper

  • 1 can black beans

  • 1 can kidney beans

  • 1 can chili beans in mild sauce

  • 2 cans Diced tomatoes (fire roasted are great for this!)

  • 1 packet chili seasoning

  • Cumin, Chili Powder, Minced Garlic to taste (I do full tablespoons)

  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste

  1. Cook ground turkey in skillet on medium heat until fully cooked through, add cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, minced garlic, and salt/pepper to taste.

  2. While the turkey is cooking dice up your yellow onion and bell pepper, (I like to cook mine down a bit in the skillet after the turkey is removed, but you can add it to the crock pot raw or from a frozen state.)

  3. Dump the rest of the ingredients into your crock pot (no need to drain or rinse anything) and stir until combined.

  4. Cook on low for at least 2 hours until everything is hot and the chili has simmered for a while.

  5. Enjoy in a bowl, frito-pie, on a potato, whatever you like!
